John Rodney Mullen (born August 17, 1966) is a professional freestyle skateboarder, and is considered to be one of the most influential skaters in the history of the sport. He is credited with inventing many tricks, including the flat-ground Ollie (originally called the 'ollie-prop pop'), the kickflip (originally called "magic flip"), the Heelflip, the 360 flip, and the Impossible.
He is also one of the key people in the skateboarding company, World Industries, along with Steve Rocco and John Lucero.

- When Tony Hawk interviewed him in 2020, he asked a fan's question, "why are his stats always the worst out of all the pro skaters?" According to Rodney, every time he came into the studios to do tricks for them, they asked him if he's ever played the game, but his answer was always no. Angered, the team decided to give him the worst stats for most of the games. Despite this, fans have said that he was one of the most used players in the series; some fans have even admitted it as a dig at Tony Hawk.
- In THPS3, He's one of the only skaters that has their own custom skateboard mount animation, along with X-Ray.
- In Rodney's case, his animation sees him place his board on the ground and performs a rail flip, landing on the board.
- However, this causes a bug in certain levels which makes the screen more zoomed in onto him, increasing difficulty.
