The ollie.

The Ollie is a real-life skateboarding trick where the skateboarder pops the skateboard into the air. The effect is the skateboarder jumping with the skateboard stuck to his or her feet. This allows skateboarders to enter a position to perform mid-air tricks from the ground.

History[]

The Ollie originally started out as an aerial skateboarding trick, invented by Alan Gelfand in 1976. The Ollie was later adapted to flat ground by Rodney Mullen. The Ollie serves as a basis for many other skateboarding tricks, such as the heelflip, kickflip etc., which require the user to be in the air to perform.
